I joined IABC 13 years ago looking for a lifeline similar to those offered to contestants on “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.” I had been given the opportunity to  lead internal communications for a rapidly growing company. IABC gave me so many resources to turn to in those early days of not having a clue of what constituted an internal communications department.  Since then, as I have grown professionally, so have the offerings from IABC. Since moving to Kansas City, I have found the local chapter so helpful and friendly. In less than four years I feel connected and I am grateful for the great programs offered here locally. I enjoy attending both the international and local conferences. Going back to those early days it was refreshing to find out that my questions were actually shared by almost everyone who works in corporate communications. I look forward to another 10 years of learning and growing new friendships with KC/IABC.
